The first commercially-manufactured camera was the Giroux Daguerreotype Camera. It was designed by Daguerre and made by Alphonse Giroux, in Paris, France. It is a double box camera based on Daguerres work in perfecting the process with experimental apparatus. It uses a 15 inch f/15 achromatic landscape lens manufactured by Chevalier, a Parisian optician and instrument maker.
