  Aiken-Gleason Peek-a-Boo Camera

The Peek-a-Boo camera was manufactured by the Aiken-Gleason Co. of La Crosse Wisconsin in circa 1898. This was a higher grade box camera compared to the Comet and Crescent cameras, This camera was made in three models, numbers 1, 2 and 3. The No. 2 took 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch sized exposures. It featured a Meniscus Achromatic lens, shifting diaphragms, the Aiken Gleason safety shutter providing adjustable time and instantaneous exposure triggered by a button on the top of the camera, seal grain leather covering, two view finders and two tripod sockets. The No. three model contained the same features haowever it was larger in size taking 4 x 5 inch sized exposures. The Peek-a-Boo camera model no. 2 was priced at $4.00 and the no. 3 model was priced at $5.00.
