  Aiken-Gleason Crescent Camera

The Crescent camera was manufactured by the Aiken-Gleason Co. of La Crosse Wisconsin in circa 1897. This was advertised as a high grade camera selling for $2.00. Like the Comet this was a simple box camera version than the original Comet camera. It did not have room to carry extra plates. It was a lightweight simple box camera that captured 3 inch x 3 1/2 inch sized exposures. It was equipped with a single achromatic lens ground from the finest imported optical glass, made expressly for this camera and warranted to equal if not better results than lenses found on higher priced cameras accompanied with a time and instantaneous shutter. The camera measures 6 1/2 x 4 x 4 inches. It was priced at two dollars and advertised as being the greatest value ever offered for the money.
