The earliest or first permanent paper negative known is produced by William Henry Fox Talbot . Its a small 1" x 1" size and of poor quality depicting “the lattice window in the South Gallery”, Lacock Abbey. However, unlike the daguerretype images, it is reproducible. Created from paper soaked in silver chloride and fixed with a salt solution
