The Speedex miniature camera was marketed by the American Camera Corp. Co. of Chicago, Ill. in c1940. Constructed of bakelite with an sleek art deco style. It is considered one of the many style cameras emanating from the Chicago group of camera manufacturers, which is hypothesized to have started with the inexpensive designs of Galter. It was a simple to operate snap shot camera fitted with a 50mm GRAF meniscus lens and a simple time and instantaneous shutter. This camera was capable of capturing sixteen half frame exposures (3 x 4 cm) on number 127 or A8 roll film.
