Brass Bound Instantograph Camera

datasheet_loginThe Brass Bound Instantograph Camera was manufactured by J. Lancaster & Son from approximately 1892 to 1910. Designed to meet the request of amateurs who have requested a high-class camera with brass bound, double swing and a folding tail-board closing over and protecting the focusing glass when carried. Like the other instantograph camera this version was compact and lightweight. The camera was constructed of select mahogany with brass bounded corners for strength and accuracy in alignment. It has rising front, double swing back, and a double extension patent bellows that are square and tapered. The later version had a reversible back. Fitted with a Lancaster lens mounted in and the Lancaster patented See-Saw shutter. For an additional cost the camera was fitted with an optional Rectigraph lens and see-saw shutter. The Brass Bounded Instantograph camera was available in quarter plate, half plate, full plate, 10 x 8, 12 x 10 and 15 x 12 inch sizes. Prices ranged from £2 10s to £13 13s.
