Filmograph No. 4 Camera

The Filmograph No. 4 Camera was manufactured by J. Lancaster & Son beginning in 1903. This was the highest grade camera compared to other Filmograph cameras. This camera came with an upgraded Lancaster's Rectigraph lens and new pattern of iris shutter having pneumatic release and speeds from 1/100 of a second to time exposures of any length. It was also constructed of mahogany with an aluminum base board. The arrangement for changing films has been simplified. The No. 4 takes quarter plate exposures 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch in size on roll film. It also retained the features of a rising and falling front, and a top mounted reversible rotating brilliant finder. The Filmograph No. 4 was originally priced at 3 15s.
