The Extra Special Camera was manufactured by J. Lancaster & Son in circa 1893. Designed to be used to the extremes, from the shortest focus wide angle lens to a long focus lens sufficiently far enough to be used as an enlarging camera. The bellows extends three times the length of the plate and closes to about two inches. It has rack pinion that will rack out to the double extension and then the screw adjustment extends the camera to triple extension. Other features include a double swing back, swing front, reversible back, no hinges, focusing glass protected. Available in six sizes: quarter plate, half plate, full plate, 10 x 8, 12 x 10, 15 x 12. Prices ranged from £2 10s to £8 15s.
