Frena No. 2 Camera by R. J. Beck

The Frena No. 2 Camera or called the Quarter Plate Frena was manufactured by by R. J. Beck beginning from approximately 1898. This camera captures quarter plate images 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches in size. Fitted with a 5 1/2 inch fixed focus "Autograph" Rapid Rectilinear lens with rotating diaphragms and a shutter with speeds from 1/5 to 1/80 of a second, including time exposures. Detachable film box was able to carry 40 cut celluloid films. This camera featured a indicator showing number of films used, swing back, two finders and two tripod sockets. measures 9 x 5 x 3 1/2 inches and weighs 2 3/4 lbs with film loaded. Original price of camera costs �8 17s 6d.

A presentation model was also available. It was covered in buff calf leather and fitted with highly polished brass trimmings. The Frena No. 0 Camera presentation model cost was �10 10s 0d.
