  Pony Premo A Camera

The Pony Premo A was manufactured by the Rochester Optical Company from 1896. Production continued by the Eastman Kodak Company until approximately 1902.

This camera was designed similar to the regular pattern but with the additional adjustments of double swing, rising and sliding front, and rack and pinion movement for focusing. It combines ease of manipulation, extreme compactness, portability and fine finish.

The 4 x 5 Pony Premo A measures only 5 1/8 x 6 1/8 x 2 1/8 inches when closed and weighs 30 ounces. Constructed of select mahogany, covered with fine grain leather and the metal is polished and lacquered brass. Fitted with a Victor Rapid rectilinear lens and a victor shutter with pneumatic release and iris diaphragm. Either glass plates or a roll holder can be used on this camera. This camera was only available in the 4 x 5 inch size. Originally priced at $25.00.
