The Pony Premo E was first Manufactured by the Rochester Optical Company in 1898. Constructed of wood and covered with black grain leather. Fitted with a fine achromatic lens, adjustable diaphragms and a safety shutter for operating both time and instantaneous exposures. Features include a spring acting ground glass focusing screen, that recedes to allow the insertion of the plate holder. A back hinged panel allows full focusing of the screen. A reversible view finder is provided for vertical and horizontal picture taking. The camera measures only 2 x 5 1/4 x 6 inches when closed and weighs slightly over one pound. The camera can take 4 x 5 sized images on glass plates or cut film. Originally priced at $8.00.
