The Premo V camera was manufactured by the Rochester Optical Company fin 1895. Designed as a low cost, simple to operate camera for the novice photographer. It was made in two sizes, a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 or a 4 x 5 inch. Constructed of wood with leather covering and a leather handle. Fitted with a single achromatic lens, adjustable diaphragms and the new safety shutter providing time and instantaneous exposures. Two view finders and two tripod plates are provided. There is a compartment in the back of the camera for three holders. The camera measured 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 x 5 inches. an instruction manual was provided with each camera. Originally priced at $5.00 Only a few were made.
