The Newman & Guardia New Ideal Sibyl Camera was manufactured starting approximately 1912. The Ideal camera was capable of taking quarter plate exposures, 3 1/4 by 4 1/4 inches in plates size or 3 1/8 x 4 7/16 inches on 118 roll-film .
Constructed of metal, covered in the best morocco leather and a black bellows of the finest leather.
Features included single extension, vertical and horizontal rising front, folding reflecting view-finder , focusing scale from 2 yards. Fitted with various lens. The Shutter was a N&G spring powered sector shutter , with pneumatic regulation and speeds between 1/2 - 1/100 of a second.
