The Vive Special Folding Camera, No. 5 was manufactured from approximately 1898 to 1902. Designed as a low cost camera. Constructed of the finest mahogany highly polished and covered in heavy black seal embossed leather with brass hardware. This camera featured rsing and falling front but no swing back. A graduated focusing scale, a single achromatic lens and a new style of shutter made especially for this camera providing instantaneous, time and bulb attachment. Available in 4 x 5 and 5 x 7 sizes and priced at $10.00 and $15.00 dollars respectively.
