The Vive no. 2 was manufactured from approximately 1896 to 1899. This camera was similar to the No. 1 with the addition of the Vive combination safety lens cap with threee diaphragms, and is arranged that 36 glass plates or over 100 cut films can be loaded and exposed before reloading. This camera also took images 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches. The Vive No. 2 was covered with fine seal grain black leather, metal fittings finished in black and fitted with a universal tripod socket, large brilliant square finder and an improved shutter for instant and time pictures. The outside dimension measured 4 7/8 x 5 1/8 x 8 5/8 inches. The Vive no. 2 sold for $7.50 in 1898.
