  Vive No. 3 Camera

The Vive no. 3 was manufactured from approximately 1896 to 1900. This camera contained 12 metal combination glass plate and cut film holders with reducing holders capable of holding 18 glass plates or 50 cut films. This camera also took images 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches and included the Vive combination safety lens cap with three diaphragms. this was the first Vive to utilize a rack and pinion focusing magazine with an accurate focusing scale, capable of taking image two feet from the lens to landscape. The outside dimension measured 4 7/8 x 5 1/8 x 8 5/8 inches. The Vive no. 3 sold for $9.00 in 1898.
