The No. 4 Folding Kodet Junior was manufactured by the Eastman Kodak company from approximately 1894 to 1897. The Junior is like the No. 4 Kodet, except that it has a different shutter. Constructed of mahogany wood, leather covered case, polished and lacquered brass hardware, a black bellows, a reversible finder and two tripod sockets. Images can be focused either by viewing the image in the ground glass screen or by using the mechanical index scale. This camera captured 4 x 5 inch pictures. The lens is fitted with revolving stops and shutter is for instant or time exposures. When folded the camera measured 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches and weighed two pounds. The Folding Kodet Junior can be used with either plates or roll film (roll film holder extra). Price in 1894 was $12.00.
