The Peerless Portrait Camera was manufactured by the American Optical Company from approximately 1891 to 1898. Constructed of seasoned mahogany and well polished. Provided with a lever focusing adjustment and fitted with a Bonanza holder with dry plate rail in addition to wet plate trough, but may be ordered with a plain rabbeted holders. Cameras larger than 8 x 10 come with a telescopic extension platform and double swing back. Available in sizes 8 x 10, 10 x 12, 11 x 14, 14 x 17, 17 x 20, 18 x 22, and 20 x 24.
