The Peerless Imperial Portrait Camera was manufactured by the American Optical Co. circa 1890. Advertised as the best and the cheapest on the market for the money. Made of first growth mahogany, neatly polished, rubber bellows, carriage with sliding Bonanza holder and extra rail. There were two models. The No. 2 was the same camera but without a polished finish. Available in 8 x 10, 10 x 12 and 11 x 14 with pricing ranging from $20 to $70.
