The firm of T.P. Bethell was established in circa 1894 with the introduction of the Regal camera. Thomas Peter Bethell created an inexpensive camera line with supplies that were unmatched for price at the time. His box cameras were made out of cardboard except for the Imprimis. The business was located at 115 Islington, Liverpool. In 1902 the business was advertised to be located at 59s Pembroke Place, Liverpool with a factory at Oakes Street, Boundry Place. From approximately 1906 to 1931 the company is listed at Crown Works, Boundery Place.
