  Anthony's Special Buckeye Box Camera

The Special Buckeye camera was introduced in 1896 by E. & H.T. Anthony company as an improvement for the tourist who desires the best result with the least amount of trouble. The leather coverd box was designed for compactness and portability. The Special Buckeye differed from the original Buckeye in that the Special was capable of using either roll Film or plates. The cartridge roll film is carried between the lens and the plane of focus, shorting the length considerably. Fitted with quality shutter with both time and instantaneous exposures. Available in either 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 or 4 x 5 sizes. 1896 price for a camera and one plate holder was $9.00.
