The Novel View Camera was manufactured by E. & H.T. Anthony from approximately 1882 to 1897. The illustration are from for 1884 model. The Novel was constructed with highly polished mahogany, fabric black bellows and both polished and lacquered nickel or brass metal work. This design introduced a novel rotating bellows and rear ground glass that allowed for the adjustment of taking a vertical or horizontal images with the same camera. Additional features included rear focus via push-pull; single or double swing; and rigid bed be using Anthony's patent clips in later models. This camera came in a large variety of sizes including: 4 x 5, 4 1/2 x 61/2, 5 x 8; 6 1/2 x 8 1/2, 8 x 10; 10 x 12, 11 x 14, 14 x 17, 17 x 20, and 18 x 22.
