  Folding Montauk, Style IIA by G. Gennert

The Montauk IIA was manufactured by G. Gennert starting from approximately 1899. Constructed of rich old mahogany wood, carefully polished brass and lacquered work draw file finished, and the exterior represents one unbroken surface of richly tooled black seal grained leather. A trifle lower in price but made of the same high grade material as the Montauk I.

The Montauk II is a compact Hand or Tripod Camera featuring a spring actuated ground glass of the same construction as Style I, vertical swing pivoted at the center, rising and falling front, a door in the rear for accurate focusing especially when using the camera on a tripod, a reversible view finder and two tripod plates allowing of its use as a tripod camera for horizontal as well as vertical pictures, double extension rack and pinion device is provided along with an accurate focusing scale. The Montauk II A takes the popular Detective holder, A roll holder using cartridge films and adapted to load in full daylight with the exchange made in an instant.
