  Oxford Camera by G. Gennert

The Oxford View Camera was manufactured by G. Gennert and was introduced in the spring of 1896. Production continued to approximately 1903. The Oxford was constructed of highly polished mahogany, leather bellows and tooled and lacquered brass fittings. Features included a front focusing design with rack and pinion adjustments, double swing, reversing back for horizontal or vertical images; a short front base extension; a spring back ground glass to securely hold plates in place and fittings for tripods. It was available in 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 and 8 x 10 inch sizes. Original price in 1896 was $20.00.
