The Argus 40 was manufactured by the Argus com of Ann Arbor Michigan in circa 1948. The camera is constructed of molded plastic with a metal face plate. It was capable of taking 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch negatives on standard 620 roll film. It was fitted with a hard-coated, color corrected, triple anastigmat f4.5 lens with finger tip focusing from 3 1/2 feet to infinity. It featured a large brilliant finder with a protective metal hood. The shutter provided speeds from 1/25th to 1/150th of a second, plus bulb. The film wind is coupled with the shutter action preventing double exposure. Includes a tripod socket and cable release. The camera measures 4 1/8 x 3 1/4 x 3 3/16 inch and weighs 24 ounces.
