  Folding Montauk (original) by G. Gennert

The original Folding Montauk was introduced in 1895 by G. Gennert. Constructed of finely polished mahogany, lacquered brass and black seal grain leather. It is easily identified by the front standard construction. Advertised as America's Ideal Hand Camera. It was light compact and well consructed. Available in both 5 x 4 and 7 x 5 sizes. It original folding Montauk was available in two patterns. The No. 1 pattern included a double extension and the No. 2 pattern was with a single extension.
