The New York View Camera was sold by Gennert from approximately 1906 to 1921. Gennert began to resale cameras from other manufacturers with his own name in the early 1900s. The New York was one of those cameras and is believed to be identical to the Seneca competitor. Constructed of polished mahogany finished cherry with brass hardware and black fabric bellows. Features included a rear focus with rack and pinion, double swing, a spring loaded ground glass plate holder to easily secure plates in place. The camera was available in sizes 5 x 7, 6 1/2 x 8 1/2, and 8 x 10.
