The Twin Lens Montauk was manufactured by G. Gennert around circa 1899. Constructed of select mahogany that is highly polished on the interior, accompanied with draw file finished and lacquered brass hardware, and seal grain leather covering. The Rapid Symmetrical twins lens providea an upper lens to reflect an exact duplicate upon a full size ground glass at the top of the camera and to afford a full view of the picture as it will appear on the plate and the lower lens for capturing the image on the plate. The Twin Lens Montauk is fitted with two accurately matched lenses being either Montauk or Ross-Goerz high grade lens. Available in both 4 x 5 and 5 x 7 sizes with prices ranging from $65.00 to 140.00 depending on the size and lens selection.
