The John Piggott & Co. likely had its beginnings in the 1850s as opticians. The earliest camera identified by this maker was from the 1860s. It was not until the 1890s that the company was prominently established itself as a camera maker at which time it was located at 117 & 118 Cheapside and Milk Street, London. In addition during this time frame, the firm also focused cycle and motorcar clothing. In 1913, the firm produced a motorcycle.
