The Buckeye Special box camera was manufactured by the American Camera Manufacturing Company of Rochester, New York in circa 1898. It was an well made box hand camera featuring the dual use of either roll film or glass plates. The Regular Buckeye only accepted foll film. It was fitted with a universal focus Achromatic lens and a simple instantaneous and time shutter. it was made in two sizes, 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch and 4 x 5 inch. Both were made for roll film use only. It was priced in 1898 at $9.00 for the smaller sized camera and $16.00 for the 4x5 camera.
