  Aiken-Gleason Improved Comet Camera

The Improved Comet camera was introduced and manufactured by the Aiken-Gleason Co. of Wisconsin in circa 1898. This was a cheaper version than the original Comet camera. It did not have room to carry extra plates. It was a lightweight simple box camera that captured 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 inch sized negatives. . It was fitted with a single achromatic lens and a snap shot shutter. It was priced at one dollar and advertised as being the only one dollar camera in the world.
