  Prominent Camera (1950s version) by Voigtlander



The Late model Prominent Camera was manufactured by Voigtlander & Sohns AG from 1950 to approximately 1957. A full featured 35mm camera with a coupled view and rangefinder with a single eyepiece. Sold with either a Voigtlander Ultron f2 50mm lens or a Voigtlander Nokton f1.5 50mm lens. The shutter was a Synchro-Compur shutter capable of speeds from 1 to 1/500 of a second, specially made for the prominent. Other features included an automatic focusing by movement of the lens, coupled film wind and shutter tensioning, Automatic interlock preventing double exposures, Film counter, film indicator, and far and near zone focusing. The camera measures 5 3/8 x 3 3/8 x 3 1/8 inches and weighs approximately 1 lb. 15 ounces with lens.
