In 1885 the manufacturing firm of E. & T. Underwood was established by two brothers. The manufacture primarily focused on camera making and was established at 130 Granville Street, Birmingham. The firm made a series of high quality hand and stand cameras and a fewer cheap cameras.

In circa 1889 Benetfink was listed as the London agent for E & T Underwood cameras

In 1896 E. Underwood patented a roller blind shutter that was sold on the Underwood cameras.

In approximately 1905 the firm dissolved.
