Conley Folding Camera, Model VI

datasheet_loginThe Conley Folding Camera, Model VI was manufactured by the Conley Camera Company of Rochester, Minnesota from approximately 1900 - 1914. It was designed to be high grade folding plate cameras good enough for anybody, but at a very much lower price than other cameras in its class. It was available in both 4 x 5 and 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 sizes. The camera was constructed of solid mahogany wood, dovetailed corners and piano finish. Covered in genuine walrus grain leather. The bellows were made of red Russian leather, gossamer lined, able to extend 8 3/4 inches. All metal parts were nickel plated and highly polished. Additionally the front standard was nickel plated with an adjustable rising and falling front and rack and pinion focusing adjustment. The lens was a high grade double rapid rectilinear and the shutter was an automatic Wollensak Senior with pneumatic and finger release. It utilized the conley flexible valve plate holder and a non-reversible spring actuated ground glass focusing screen with hinged leather covered back panel. A brilliant reversible view finder and two tripod sockets were provided. The 4x5 camera clossed measured closed 5 7/8 x 6 1/4 x 2 inches and the 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 size measured 4 3/4 x 6 7/8 x 2 5/8 inches.
