The Conley Model XI Camera was manufactured by the Conley Camera Company of Rochester, Minnesota from approximately 1900 - 1916. This camera was designed to take Post Card size images of 3 1/4 x 5 1/2. This camera was similar to the Model X expect that it was covered with bear grain leather instead of seal grain keratol, the bellows capacity was greater at 9 3/4 inches, it had fine rack and pinion focusing adjustment and a Conley safety shutter. The camera was constructed of solid African mahogany wood, dovetailed, rounded corners and hand rubbed piano finish. The bellows were made of red Russian leather, gossamer lined. All metal parts were made of brass with nickel plating and highly polished. The back is non-reversible with a single swing and spring actuated ground glass focusing screen with hinged leather back panel. The lens was a double rapid rectilinear and the shutter was a Conley safety with pneumatic and finger release. It utilized the Conley flexible valve plate holder, a reversible view finder and two tripod sockets, and an adjustable all metal rising and falling front. The camera measured closed 2 5/8 x 4 3/4 x 6 7/8 inches.
