Conley Box Camera, Model 2
The Conley Box Camera, Model II was manufactured by Conley Camera Company of Rochester Minnesota from approximately 1900 - 1910. It was designed as an inexpensive 4x5 plate camera, being a step up from the Conley model I . The box was constructed of select wood covered in walrus grain leather, and all metal parts were made of brass, fully nickel plated and polished. It contained a high grade achromatic lens with universal or fixed focus and a Conley time and instantaneous shutter. It had a capacity of holding three double plate holders or six plates. Two view finders and two tripod sockets are also provided. It was simple to operate. The camera measured 5 1/2 x 7 1/8 high by 8 1/8 inches long and weighed 36 ounces. |
