The Acme Camera was manufactured by W. Watson & Sons from 1889 to 1927. A flag ship design that was a mainstay of the Watson cameras. A compact and portable design with every modern improvement of practical utility. It featured a full range rising an falling front, with swing motion both front and back, reversible back frame with ground glass screen for focusing, and a double extension bellows. The Acme was constructed of solid wood and balanced between strength and weight. Hardware fittings are made of brass with optional aluminum upon special order. Made in six sizes, 6 1/2 x 4 3/4, 7 1/2 x 5, 8 1/2 x 6 1/2, 10 x 8, 12 x 10, 15 x 12 and typically sold with a rapid rectilinear lens.
