The Archer Automat folding hand Camera was manufactured by Archer & Sons, manufacturing opticians of Liverpool England in circa 1903. The Automat camera was constructed of mahogany and covered with morocco leather. It featured a triple extension leather bellows, reversible finder, focusing scale,a swing back and a swing front with the front having extreme rise due to the lifting brackets in the front. It was fitted with a Baush & Lomb automat shutter and the best rapid rectilinear lens. advertised as the simplest and the best ever invented and suitable for either hand or stand. Priced in 1903 at £5 5s for a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch exposure size and at £5 15s for a 5 x 4 inch exposure size
