The Tourist Hand Camera was manufactured by Archer & Sons, manufacturing opticians of Liverpool England in circa 1899. The Tourist camera is constructed of polished mahogany covered in morocco leather and fitted with a leather bellows controlled by rack and pinion focusing from outside the camera. It also features an accurate focusing scale, rising front, spirit level, brilliant finders for both horizontal and vertical work, and a full size ground glass focusing screen with door. A Thornton-Pickard Time and Instantaneous shutter is placed behind the lens and a first quality rapid rectilinear lens is provided with iris diaphragms. The camera measures 9 x 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches. Originally priced at �5 5s.
