Century Camera, Model No. 44

The Century Camera, Model No. 44 was manufactured by the Century Camera Company in circa 1904. Designed for the advanced amateur and professional photographer. This camera embodied every adjustment and features of less expensive models including revolving back, swing back, swing bed, rising and falling front, automatic bed clamp, rack and pinion, brass bound, hooded and reversible finder, extra long bellows, convertible lens and the Century Automatic, No. 1 shutter with operations for instantaneous, time and bulb exposures.

The Model No. 44 camera was similarly constructed of solid mahogany box with dovetail joints and covered in black leather. The brass hardware is highly polished and lacquered. The bed is highly polished mahogany and attached with piano hinge. Made in five sizes, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4, 4 x 5, 5 x 7, 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 and 8 x 10 inch. Prices ranged from $25.00 to $62.00.
