Century Camera, Model No. 24

datasheet_loginThe Century Camera, Model No. 24 was manufactured by the Century Camera Company in circa 1903. Described as as the top of the line outfit for medium priced outfits. The model 24 contains every adjustment found in lesser models including an extra long bellows and a high quality lens.

The camera was constructed of solid mahogany box with dovetail joints and covered in fine black leather and a polished mahogany bed, attached with piano hinge for stability. The brass hardware is highly polished and lacquered. The brass front provided a rigid lens mounting with a rising and falling front with an automatic bed clamp. A swing back and swing bed. A reversible back with automatic screen and wooden panel. The camera was fitted with a Century Rapid Convertible lens and a Century Automatic, No. 1 shutter with operations for instantaneous, time and bulb exposures. A brass bound, hooded and reversible three lens brilliant finder is provided for vertical or horizontal images.

The Century Camera, Model No. 24 was made in five sizes, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches, 4 x 5 inch, 5 x 7 inch, 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch and 8 x 10 inch size. The cameras were originally priced starting at $24.00 for the 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch size to $53.00 for the 8 x 10 inch size.
