Century Camera, Model No. 22

The Century Camera, Model No. 22 was manufactured by the Century Camera Company in circa 1903. Described as as an ideal outfit for the beginner or more advanced amateur. It is similar to the model 20 and 21 except, with the addition a swing bed and swing back and new lens shutter combination.

The camera was constructed of solid mahogany box with dovetail joints and covered in fine black leather and a polished mahogany bed, attached with piano hinge for stability. The brass hardware is highly polished and lacquered. The brass front provided a rigid lens mounting with a rising and falling front with an automatic bed clamp. The 5 x 7 model front was made of mahogany wood instead of brass. A reversible back with automatic screen and wooden panel. The camera was fitted with a Century Rapid Symmetrical lens and a Century Regular double Valve, No. 4 shutter. A brass bound, hooded and reversible three lens brilliant finder is provided for vertical or horizontal images. Made in three sizes, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches and a 4 x 5 inch both originally priced at $20.00 or a 5 x 7 inch size originally priced at $27.00.
