  Century Camera, Model No. 20

The Century Camera, Model No. 20 was manufactured by the Century Camera Company in circa 1903. Constructed of solid mahogany box with dovetail joints and covered in black leather and a polished mahogany bed, attached with piano hinge for stability. The brass hardware is highly polished and lacquered. The image focus was adjusted manually by extending the bellows and locking in place with a century patent bed lock. The brass front provided a rising and falling front with an automatic bed clamp. The 5 x 7 model front was made of wood instead of brass. A reversible back with automatic screen and wooden panel. The camera was fitted with a Century Rapid Rectilinear lens and a Century Automatic, No. 3 shutter. A brass bound, hooded and reversible three lens brilliant finder is provided for vertical or horizontal images. Made in three sizes, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches and a 4 x 5 inch both originally priced at $12.50 or a 5 x 7 inch size originally priced at $18.00.
