The Adlake Special Camera was manufactured by The Adams and Westlake company of Chicago, Illinois from 1898 to approximately 1920. Designed with first class trimmings and the weight reduced to a minimum. This camera was fitted with a extra rapid achromatic lens and a new Adlake metal shutter with four stops. Two finders are provided for portrait or landscape work and two accompanying tripod sockets. Covered in Seal Grain leather. Originally priced at $15.00 for a 4 x 5 inch size.
