  Butcher's Focal Plane No. 2 Camera

W. Butcher & Sons Focal Plane No. 2 Camera was manufactured in circa 1904. Designed as a compact folding hand camera. Constructed of mahogany wood body with an aluminum baseboard and covered with the best morocco leather. The camera was fitted with a Aldis F6 lens. The focal plane has four different sized slots, that can be brought into position to vary the shutter speed. The focusing screen in the back has a folding cover. It has a double extension bellows and rack and pinion focusing. Made in two sizes. The quarter plate size originally listed for £6 and the 5 x 4 inch size listed for £6 13s.
