The Excelsior Camera was manufactured by W. Butcher & Sons Ltd. Company in circa 1908. A hand camera that folds to extreme compactness and has a reversible back. The camera body was constructed of mahogany and the baseboard and are made from aluminum. The front is a rising and falling with a locking feature and cross front is achieved with rack and pinion. A double extension bellows is adjusted by rack and pinion movement. The No. 4 is depicted in the illustration with an automat shutter and rapid aplanat lens. The cameras were produced in quarter plates size, post card size and half plate size. Pricing ranged from £3 17s 6d to £6 6s 0d.
