The Sphinx Box Camera was manufactured by the W. Butcher & Sons Ltd. company in circa 1902. Designed with many others of that time period as an in expensive magazine camera. It featured a large diameter achromatic fix focus lens and a time and adjustable instantaneous shutter. Two brilliant finders. The Perfect magazine changing system that accommodated twelve quarter plates and a recorder for numbering the exposed plates. Covered in morocco grained leatherette with solid leather handle. Originally priced at 21s.
