The Popular Pressman Reflex was manufactured by W. Butcher & sons Ltd. from approximately 1908 to 1930. Described as a high-class reflex camera in compact form. It was constructed of well seasoned mahogany, covered in morocco grained leather and all the hardware is black enameled. Features a long leather focusing hood to keep light away from the focusing screen. The back metal is reversible and the front front racks out with steel girders for rigidity. The shutter is the reliable roller blind, with three permanent slits, 3mm, 25 mm, and 100 mm, each of which can be brought into position and provide a variety of exposures form 1 /15th to 1/1000 of a second. Made in two sizes, a half plate (4 1/4 x 3 1/4) or a postcard size (5 1/2 x 3 1/2). Prices varied depending on lens and size selection, ranging from £14 15 0 to £27 10 0.
