The New Studio Camera was manufactured by J. Lancaster & Son from approximately 1890 to 1905. Designed as a universal use studio camera that can be manufactured with an optional Brass Bound mahogany construction for strength to accommodate harsh climate changes which may affect the cameras alignment. Featuring a repeating back capable of taking cabinet, portrait or group, and one or two Cartes on a plate. Focus is obtained by rack adjustments. Other features include a tailboard design with leather bellows and double swing. This camera was offered in half plate, full plate, 10 x 8, and 12 x 10 inch size in either wood or wood and brass bound construction.
