Skipper Box Camera

The Skipper Box Camera was manufctured by W. Butcher & sons in circa 1903. A box camera designed like many others of that time period as an in expensive magazine camera with an advertising theme of the skipper. Constructed of wood and covered in black leatherette with a solid leather handle. It featured a good quality lens and a time and instantaneous shutter with adjustable diaphragms for F/11, F/22 and F/44. Two ground glass finders. Capable of taking six plates or twelve cut films on quarter plates (4 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches) with the infallible changing system . Originally priced at 8s 6p.
